The subject matter of Ace's art is often the Blackfoot Indians of Montana, and occasionally the Cree, Flathead and related tribes. Ace himself remarked, "We weren't cowboy artists back in those days, we were just artists painting the west as we knew it and had experienced it." In this book, various poems, quotes and news clippings have been interspersed with his art work.
