599pp. Large octavo [23.5 cm] Olive green cloth covered boards with a gilt lettering and gilt stamped vignettes on the spine and front cover. Map endpapers. Illustrated. Very good condition. The spine ends and corners of the covers are just a little bumped. There is a previous owner's tiny ink stamp on the front free endsheet, and there is an embossed stamp on the title page. In a very good dust jacket, with subtle age-toning, and a mildly rubbed surface. There are several very minor chips in the edges.

Line drawings by Jack Brodie. From the dust jacket- "In this authoritative one-volume history of the state, the first to be written by a professional historian, Dr. Elwyn B. Robinson is concerned to put the North Dakota story in broad context, relating it to the great movements in the history of the Western world."
