758; 770pp. Very thick quartos [25 cm] 3/4 brown leather with brown pebbled cloth over boards, raised bands, and the title stamped in decorative gilt on the spine and front cover. Marbled text block edges and endsheets. Very good. The extremities are rubbed, and the corners of the covers are gently bumped. The pages are tanned. There are tears in the leather at the ends of the spine of volume 1. The longest tear is along the front joint, and measures 2" long. The head of the manikin at p. 734 (Volume 1) has been torn off, but is present. The first 20 pages of volume 2 are nearly detached.
