971pp. Very thick quarto [25 cm] 3/4 brown leather with black pebbled cloth over boards, raised bands, decorative gilt stamped tiles on the spine and front cover, and decorative brown ink stamped embellishments on the spine. Marbled text block edges and endsheets. Good. The extremities are rubbed, and the underlying boards are exposed along the edges. The cloth on the boards is peeling away at the edges near the spine. The leather spine is sunned. There is a previous owner's inscription on the rear flyleaf, and there are episodic light tide marks on the edges of the pages. There is a small loss from the bottom edge of the rear free endsheet. The pages are tanned, and a few pages have small closed or open tears. The illustration at p. 159 is nearly detached. ***The color manikins are absent.
