Comments

Short aphoristic poems. Piet Hien began writing "grooks," a name invented by him, during the Nazi occupation of Denmark, when they were considered underground literature. These grooks with multiple layered meanings, soon became good weapons of the resistance, enabling the Danish people to talk to one another in a means just beyond German occupiers' understanding.
