480pp. Sextodecimo [17 cm] Red cloth over boards with a gilt stamped title and two gilt ruled lines on the spine, and the publisher's device in gilt and gilt ruled borders on the front cover. Top edge gilt. Black and white frontispiece portrait of John R. Cook. Very good condition. There are numerous small, light stains on the covers, and the spine and covers are subtly bumped and rubbed along the edges. The spine is just a trifle rolled back. There is a previous owner's bookplate on the front pastedown. Else, the pages are clean and bright.
