163pp. Quarto [26 cm] Light brown and black printed wraps. Illustrated. Good plus. The covers are mildly rubbed, stained and creased. There are small chips and tears in the paper at the ends of the spine. There is a previous owner's bookplate on the verso of the front cover, and the bookplate is offset on the front flyleaf. The pages are tanned, and the threads are sporadically visible in the gutters of the pages. The bottom fore edge corners of the last several pages are dog-eared.
Subjects include cooking, Basketmaker II mummies, habitations, the miracle of corn, the advent of pottery, the needle, and much more.
