95pp. Octavo [23 cm] 1/4 red cloth with brightly illustrated paper over boards. Very good. The extremities are gently bumped and rubbed, and the top 2 inches of the backstrip is sunned. There is a contemporary owner's name written in pencil on the front free endsheet. In a good only dust jacket, with a partially detached front wrap and multiple losses from the edges. The largest loss is from the paper at the head of the spine, and measures 2" deep by 1 and 1/2" wide.

Johnny Gruelle was a newspaper man famous for his stories about Raggedy Ann, written in order to amuse his ailing daughter, Marcella.
