340; [2]pp. Duodecimo [19 cm] Magenta cloth covered boards, with the title stamped in gilt on the spine. Two pages of publisher's adverts at the rear. Very good. The spine and boards are show minor staining, and the spine is rolled and faded. Lightly stained along the top edge of the front pastedown. The second page of publisher's advertisements is darkened. There is a bookseller's small label on the rear pastedown. The pages are tanned. In Hubin.

Comments

A gothic novel based on the unsolved murder of a prostitute which took place in 1872. The original edition is scarce. Joseph Shearing and Marjorie Bowen are the pseudonyms of Gabrielle Margaret Vere Campbell Long.
