The book is solid and clean throughout, with two short tears to the fore-edge of pages 21/22 and 29/30. Creeley's fourth book, and first collection of short stories, originally printed in a run of about 500 copies. Cover design by Rene Laubies. Novik A4.
This copy is from the library of Ruth Witt-Diamant, bearing her ownership signature in ink on the front flyleaf. A professor and founding director of the Poetry Center at San Francisco State University, Ruth Witt-Diamant was also well-known for the hospitality she provided for poets travelling through her area. To this day SFSU administers a poetry prize in her name. Coincidentally, Witt-Diamant founded the Poetry Center at SFSU in the same year that this book was published.
