The book is in very good condition, with subtle bumping and rubbing to the extremities. The text block edges are lightly foxed, and the pages are tanned. With the illustrated dust jacket in very good condition. Mildly age toned. There are numerous small chips in the edges. The largest chip measures 1/4" wide by 1/4" deep. Item #39572

Joseph Hergesheimer first received literary recognition with the publication of his book, The Three Black Pennys, in 1917. His short story, Tol'Able David, was made into a popular silent film in 1921.
