With Commentaries on the Photographs by Crow Tribal Members Barney Old Coyote Jr., Mardell Hogan Plainfeather, and Dean Curtis Bear Claw. Throssel was a Native American photographer, who was active as a photographer on the Crow Reservation, during a period when there were no less than fourteen amateur and professional photographers working there, but who managed none-the-less to create images that stand out in comparison to those by contemporary Anglo photographers.
