241pp. Quarto [28 cm] Thickly woven brown cloth over boards with the title stamped in white on the backstrip. Very good. The spine ends and corners of the covers are just a little bumped and rubbed, and the spine is very subtly rolled back. The pictorial dust jacket is in very good condition, with age-toning, mild scratching to the surface, and a handful of shallow closed edge tears and chips.

Music arranged by Leo Alfassy. Designed by Ira Friedlander and Will Hopkins. From the dust jacket- "In his music, Johnny Cash tells us who he is. His honesty, his convictions and concerns, his sincerity, humor and emotion are expressed are expressed directly and clearly. The music is the man. Here, through photographs, a perceptive essay by Christopher S. Wren, but most off all through the songs he has written, songs he is most associated with, is a portrait of one of America's most dynamic and magnetic performers."
