The spine and covers are mildly bumped, rubbed and stained. A handful of the pages have large, but very light stains. The majority of the pages are very clean. The book is very sturdy.
Full explanations how the various games are to be played, with diagrams and illustrations. Edmond Hoyle was considered an expert on the rules and strategies behind card games and board games including chess and backgammon. He also coined the well-known phrase "According to Hoyle."
