480pp. Octavo [24 cm] 3/4 black leather with pebbled black cloth covered boards. Frontispiece portrait of Edward Partridge. Good plus. The spine and covers are rubbed at the extremities, and the underlying boards are peeking through at the corners. The top edge of the front board is subtly moisture stained and warped, and there are sporadic light damp stains in the top margins of the pages. The largest damp stain is on the frontispiece illustration, and measures roughly 5" wide by 3" deep. The other stains are much smaller. The frontispiece portrait is also slightly offset on the title page. Flake 2479.
This publication was the successor to the "Amateur" and predecessor to the "Improvement Era." Topics covered include the Aaronic Priesthood, Dramatic Incidents of Church History, A Duty of Parents, Bismarck as an Orator, and much more.
