Hardcover. 172, i-xlix, [2] pp. Quarto [26.5 cm] Original brown cloth with decorative black ink stamping and gilt title to the front cover; gilt title to the spine. Good. The covers and spine are rubbed. The spine ends and corners of the covers are bumped, and the underlying boards are exposed at the corners. There are several very small light stains on the edges of the text block. The front endsheet is split along the hinge and the hinge is weak. The front free endsheet has a former owner's bookplate and two numerical notations in pen. There are several small cracks in the rear endsheet along the hinge. The longest crack measures 1 and 1/2 inches long. There is a contemporary gift inscription on the front flyleaf. The text block is cracked at the beginning. The mildly yellowed pages have very sporadic light stains, and the bottom corners of pp. 143-170 are dog eared. Item #41655
