479pp. Octavo [23.5 cm] Pale yellow cloth over boards. Very good, the boards are just a little soiled, and there is a previous owner's name on the front free endpaper. Else, the pages are clean. The dust jacket is in very good condition, with a small stain on the front panel, and a 3" closed tear in the top edge. There is also a tiny chip in the surface.
From the dust jacket- "The development of the General Indian Court and the relation of the legal aides to their Indian clients and to other lawyers form a complicated story of both service and exploitation and contribute an important chapter to the history of colonial Mexico."
