90pp. Octavo [24 cm] Black cloth over boards with gilt lettering on the spine and front cover, and single blind ruled borders on the covers. Good plus. There are several large areas of heavy abrading along the edges of the covers, exposing the underlying boards. The title on the spine has faded, and the edges of the text block are lightly foxed. The pages are age-toned, but free of markings. In a very good dust jacket, with darkening and mild soiling, and intermittent small closed and open tears in the edges. The deepest closed tear is 1" deep, and the largest open tear is 3/4" wide by 1/4" deep.
In this book the author provides a new method for constructing magic squares of order 5 (1 A). The book is presented to the public as a curiosity and will win the favor of those interested in mathematical conundrums.
