Quarto [27.5 cm] Black cloth over boards with a gilt stamped title on the spine, and an illustrated paper label on the front cover. With 8 full-page tipped in color plates. Good plus. The extremities are lightly rubbed, the spine is subtly faded, and there are a couple of faint partial moisture rings on the front cover. The front hinge is going. Complete, with all plates present. The illustrations at pp. 96 and 111 are beginning to detach at the head. The illustration at p. 253 is completely detached, and laid in.
With color and black and white illustrations by Harry Clarke. An early printing of a book first published in 1919. Harry Clarke was a book illustrator, Ireland's most renowned stained glass artist, and a prominent figure in the Irish Arts and Crafts Movement.
