The James A. Michener Collection, on permanent loan to the Honolulu Academy of Arts, contains wonderful examples of the Japanese print in every stage of its development. This volume deals with single-sheet Japanese woodblock prints and several leaves of illustrated books published over the course of about one hundred years from the 1670s to the 1760s.
