121pp. Oblong folio [30 cm x 37 cm] Chartreuse cloth over boards with stamping in black and blind on the spine and front cover. With 40 plates in color. Very good. The spine ends are bumped and there are several small indentations along the bottom edges of the covers. There are multiple small, light stains on the bottom edge of the text block. The text block is a little wavy. In a good plus dust jacket, with numerous closed and open tears in the edges, several of which have been backed with tape. The longest closed tear measures roughly 4 inches.
From the dust jacket- "This fine collection of color reproductions of Peter Hurd's field sketches and small water colors, many reproduced full size, is not a random gathering of material. The artist and his wife, Henriette Wyeth [daughter of N. C. Wyeth], have carefully chosen a cross section of those most intimate experiences, the notes directly from nature, which tell us so much about his love of the country he paints: its light, its weather, its mood."
