438pp. Quarto [28 cm] Brown cloth covered boards with black and gilt stamped titles and vignettes on the spine and front cover. Map endpapers. Very good, with lightly rubbed and bumped edges, rubbing to the gilt stamped vignette on the front cover, and light soiling on the covers. There is a contemporary gift inscription on the front free endpaper, and there is a bookbinder's small ticket on the rear pastedown. P. 244 has very brief underlining.
