149pp. Large octavo [24.5 cm] Red cloth covered boards with gilt stamped titles and designs on the spine and front cover. Top edge gilt. Other edges deckled. Frontispiece of "Metta." Good plus. The extremities are moderately bumped and soiled, and there is a large glue-stained and abraded area on the front pastedown left behind from a removed bookplate. There is also a brief numerical notation in pen on the front pastedown, and again on the title page. The text block is cracked several times.

Alfred Lambourne was born in England and subsequently moved to the American West with the Mormon pioneers. He is most remembered for his paintings, but he also wrote short fiction for Mormon periodicals.
