122; 11; 120; 109; 73; 80; 23pp. Octavo [23 cm] Custom bound in 3/4 brown leather with burgundy pebbled cloth over boards, raised bands, and a gilt stamped title on the spine. Red speckled text block edges. Brown floral endpapers. Original wraps bound in. Very good. The extremities are mildly rubbed, and there is a thin 4" long mark on the front cover. There are large darkened strips along the edges of the endpapers, and there are darkened patches on a couple of the pages, from a newspaper clipping having been laid in. The text block is cracked about a third of the way in, however the book is still very sturdy. Ex-libris C. C. Richards, Secretary of Utah Territory, with his name in gilt at the foot of the spine. Charles Comstock Richards played a prominent role in obtaining Utah Statehood.
