1641pp. Duodecimo [19 cm] in three-quarter blind-embossed brown calf over marbled boards, with gilt-stamped spine, marbled endpapers. Small strips of leather applied to spine mimic raised spine bands. Heavy rubbing to leather and boards, some chipping to spine, 4" x 1" portion of marbled paper torn from rear board at top, chip to leather at rear board lower corner, corners exposed; inner hinges cracked (but holding), front free endpaper pulling away from its backing, soiling and dampstains to blank pages at front and rear; contemporary ink inscription on blank page at front, pencil inscription on same page detailing provenance (circa 1951). Engraved frontispiece completely disbound, but present, as is its tissue protective sheet; dampstains to fore-edge margins of early text, foxing throughout.
