SIGNED. 314pp. Octavo [24 cm] Rust colored cloth over boards with a black ink stamped title on the spine. Very good, with a slight lean to the spine, and subtle darkening to the extremities (more so at the spine). There are 5 lengthy, but light, creases in the front cover, and the spine ends and corners of the covers are bumped. The first edition of this book was issued simultaneously in cloth and in wrappers, and was limited to 3,000 copies. Illustrated by Fritz Eichenberg and Ade Bethune.

Inscribed by the author in black ink on the title page. Inscription reads: "Greetings to my fellow ___ - Ammon Hennacy." With a typed note card, signed by Hennacy laid in. The note card reads: "Friend Whelen: Thanks or [sic] your pretty card and good letter. You will see in the CW what happens to us. It is likely that we will get time on that air raid drill case Jan. 15 as we have the judge who once called us 'murderers'. But we will keep on breaking the law... A cop in front of St. Patrick's tried to pinch me yesterday but I talked him out of it. I am just reading the life of O'Sullivan Rossa... Each of us has to go at our own speed and it looks as if many of us will get jolted out of our complacency. I meet with the American [I]ndians of N. Y. once a month. My Hopi friends are the true rebels. Keep in touch. In Christ, for peace, Ammon Hennacy [signed]."
