Chapter nine is titled 'The Mormon City' (p.114-134) and chapter ten is titled 'Salt Lake City' (p.114-134). A very uneven account of the Mormons in the Great Basin. "Not to mince the matter, I never saw such a collection of ugly, shriveled, melancholy looking women in my life." Much of the content in these two chapters deal with the author's fascination with the practice of polygamy. Flake/Draper 4496.
