Handwritten letter by J. M. Barrie on his own stationary. 22 cm x 18 cm sheet of laid paper, with "Papyrus Westbournia" watermark with crown, folded once widthwise, with "Leinster Corner, Lancaster Gate, W." embossed in grey on upper righthand corner. Two further folds to sheet (one lengthwise and one widthwise), short pencil notation, very light ink note reading "Private" in Barrie's hand.

Wonderfully dry short letter, dated 18 Nov 1902, in which Barrie informs a curious correspondent that the answers to all of his questions may be readily found by consulting a library catalogue. This letter was written in the year in which Barrie's character Peter Pan was first introduced to the public, in the novel The Little White Bird, or Adventures in Kensington Gardens.
