Oblong folio [26.5 cm x 40 cm] Black hardcover with a metal screw binding. Good only. The covers and the insides of the covers are soiled. The covers are also slightly rubbed, and the title on the front cover has faded. There is a small abraded patch on the front cover. There are a couple of small tears in the cloth at the foot of the spine. The pastedowns are coming away from the boards. The title page and the last page are lightly soiled. There may be very occasional light soiling in the margins of the plates. The number tabs are occasionally absent. The book is sturdy.
Issued Only to Representatives of the California Perfume Company. The history of the California Perfume Company started with Mr. David H. McConnell purchasing the Union Publishing Company (the firm to which McConnell was employed) located in a small office about 20 x 25 feet in size, at 126 Chambers Street, New York City. The color plate catalogs were first used in 1915.
