80pp. Slim quarto [26 cm] Tan cloth over boards, with the title stamped in gilt on the front cover. The spine ends and corners of the covers are gently bumped, and the boards are slightly splayed. The text block is partially cracked at p. 49. In a price-clipped dust jacket, with light rubbing, subtle darkening, and periodic shallow closed tears and chips in the edges.

With facsimiles of Ruess' woodcuts and facsimile photographs of Ruess and his travels. This work was published sixteen years after Ruess disappeared in the wilds of Southern Utah. The mystery surrounding artist and poet Everett Ruess (1914-1934) continues to the present day. Ruess, who loved to explore the expansive lands of the west, disappeared in the wilderness of Utah in 1934. No trace of him has ever been found. Farquhar 119b.
