San Francisco: Wasp Publishing Company, Circa 1880. 10" by 14". The illustration is in very good condition, with a couple of light brown stains in the top edges. Item #16949

Brigham Young is depicted in an oval above Main Street, Salt Lake City. The mountains are in the background. Page 89 of The Illustrated Wasp, a satirical magazine. The artist, George Frederick Keller, moved to San Francisco after serving in the civil war. During the 1870s and 1880s, he worked for lithographer George Baker. George Frederick Keller was the west coast version of New York City's political cartoonist, Thomas Nast. Keller was one of the Wasp's regular cartoonists.
