The front hinge is broken, and the text block is just barely beginning to come away from the covers. The dust jacket is in very good condition. Diego Rivera was a Mexican painter and muralist born in Guanajuato City, Guanajuato. He studied painting in Mexico before going to Europe in 1907.
While in Europe he became interested in cubism and had exhibitions in Paris and Madrid in 1913; a show in New York City follwed in 1916. In 1921 he returned to Mexico, where he started painting government-sponsored murals that demonstrated his communist politics in historical contexts.
