All edges gilt. Good. There are numerous large chips and and a couple of cracks in the boards along the joints. The longest crack measures two inches. The covers are heavily rubbed, and the underlying boards are exposed along the edges. The front endsheet is split along the hinge. Item #20070
Expose by the notorious Mormon leader. John D. Lee was a participant in the Mountain Meadows Massacre and the only person tried for this atrocity. Lee was found guilty and put to death by firing squad at Mountain Meadows in 1877. Flake/Draper 4863.
