The covers are slightly bowed. The front cover is subtly stained, and the gilt stamped title is a bit faded. The edges of the covers are rubbed. The underlying boards are peeking through at the corners. There are several small closed and open tears in the cloth at the spine ends. There is a contemporary inscription on the front free endsheet. There are several small cracks in the endsheets along the hinges. There is a 1 inch closed tear in the bottom edge of the rear free endsheet. The pages are mildly rippled and browned.
