The covers are heavily rubbed. The underlying boards are exposed along the edges. There is a small loss from the leather at the foot of the spine, and there is a 1 inch long crack in the leather at the foot of the spine along the front joint. The endsheets are mildly soiled and have very light moisture stains and a couple of large patches of discoloration along the edges. The patches measure 1 inch wide by 1 inch tall. The front endsheet has a former owner's notation and a name crossed out. The rear pastedown has a contemporary owner's name, and multiple very tiny specks. There is a tiny contemporary notation on the rear free endsheet, and the contemporary owner's name on the pastedown is slightly offset on this page as well. There are contemporary notations on the verso of the title page, and there is a contemporary owner's name on the top edge of the index page. The text block is cracked at the index page, and again at p. 375. There is occasional light foxing throughout the pages. The pages also have very sporadic hatching and underlining. Some of the pages have small spots or light moisture stains. The book is sturdy. Item #26932
