All edges gilt. Good. Ex-library. The spine is very heavily faded. The covers are rubbed, and the edges of the covers are subtly faded and bumped. A previous owner's name has been stamped in gilt on the front cover. There are numerous small splits in the cloth at the ends of the spine. There is an abraded patch on the spine, where something has been rubbed out. The gilt on the bottom edge of the text block is slightly rubbed. This once belonged to a county historical library. The front endsheet has a discard label and a couple of ink stamps. The text block is cracked several times, however the book is still very sturdy. The pages are mildly browned. There are a library markings on the Preface page. Pp. 44-45 have large dark patches. One of the rear flyleaves has numerous small light stains. Item #27354
