New York: Duell, Sloan & Pearce, 1941. First edition. Hardcover. 304pp. Octavo [22 cm] Light and dark brown cloth covered boards. Map endsheets. Very good. The edges of the spine and covers are gently rubbed and bumped. The cloth at the bottom right corner of the front cover is slightly frayed. The covers are ever so slightly bowed, and the spine is barely perceptibly rolled. There is a bookseller's tiny label on the verso of the free endsheet. The pages are yellowed. The dust jacket is in good condition only. Rubbed and creased. The spine is very heavily faded. The rear panel is ever so slightly soiled and stained. There are multiple small losses from the edges. The largest loss is at the head of the spine, and measures 1 and 3/4 inches wide by 1/2 inch deep. There are also several small closed tears in the edges and along the folds. Price-clipped.
