Very good. The covers and spines are ever so slightly bumped and rubbed. The spine of volume 2 is rolled, and a couple of the spines are mildly rolled back. The front free endsheets and title pages have a former owner's blind stamps. There is very occasional brief marginalia. There is a former owner's bookplate on the front pastedown of volume 2. Gift inscriptions and brief notations on four of the endsheets. The dust jackets are in very good condition. There are numerous small closed tears and chips along the edges and folds. The longest closed tear measures 1 inch long. There are also multiple small losses from the edges. The largest losses are 1/4 inch wide by 1/4 inch deep. The jackets of volumes 3 and 4 are price-clipped, and there are old price stickers on the front inside flaps of these volumes as well. The top edge of the rear inside flap of volume 3 has been cut out. Item #30158
