New York: Simon and Schuster, 1958. First edition. Paperback. 127pp. Small quarto [23.5 cm] Illustrated wraps. Good. The spine and covers are mildly rubbed, browned and creased. The covers and text block are slightly wavy. The covers have several very small light stains, and there is a very small light moisture stain on the top edge of the text block. There are several small losses from the top edge of the front free endsheet. The pages are browned, and the pages throughout the first 1/4 of the text have barely perceptible moisture stains in the top corners. The book is sturdy. Item #30782

Walt Kelly's career in animation began in 1936 at Walt Disney Studios, where he contributed to Pinocchio and Fantasia. In 1941, Kelly resigned at the age of 28 to work at Dell Comics, where he created Pogo.
