New York: Simon and Schuster, 1958. First edition. Paperback. 127pp. Small quarto [23.5 cm] Illustrated wraps. Very good. The spine and covers are mildly rubbed and creased, and ever so slightly soiled. The covers and text block are slightly wavy. There are a couple of small light stains on the rear cover. The spine is slightly rolled. The paper at the ends of the spine is chipped, and there is a 1/4 inch closed tear in the paper at the foot of the spine. The pages are browned, but very clean. The book is sturdy. Item #30784

Walt Kelly's career in animation began in 1936 at Walt Disney Studios, where he contributed to Pinocchio and Fantasia. In 1941, Kelly resigned at the age of 28 to work at Dell Comics, where he created Pogo.
