Volumes 1 and 2 are in good condition, volume 3 is in very good condition. The extremities are rubbed and gently bumped, and the cloth along the edges is a little frayed. The covers are very lightly soiled, and the bottom edges of the text blocks are slightly scuffed. The underlying boards are just barely peeking through at some of the corners. Mildly browned pages. The pages have very episodic light stains. There is a 4 inch long ripple in the cloth of the spine of volume 1. There is also a 3/4 inch long chip in the cloth at the head of the spine. The text block is cracked at p. 33 and p. 49. There is a small open tear in p. 89, affecting a tiny bit of the text. P. 210/211 has been torn out. The rear board of volume 2 is lightly scratched, and there is a small split in the cloth at the head of the spine. The text block is cracked at the beginning and end. The pages throughout the first third of this volume are very faintly creased. The cloth of the spine of volume 3 has several light ripples. The front endsheet of volume 3 is subtly stained along the hinge. There is a 1 inch closed tear in the top edge of the illustration at p. 527, and there is a smaller closed tear in the surface of the illustration at p. 543. Pp. 617-626 have a bit more staining than previously mentioned. The text block of volume 3 is cracked at the end. May require extra postage due to weight. Item #30995
