Paris: Librairie Martinon, Circa 1862. French text. Hardcover. 262pp. Quarto [28 cm] Tan and red illustrated paper covered boards. Fair. The backstrip is absent. The covers are lightly soiled, heavily rubbed, and the underlying boards are exposed along the edges and surrounding areas of the covers. There is a 1 inch long indentation in the board along the fore edge of the front cover. There are a handful of small light moisture stains on the covers, and there is a thin 2 inch long mark on the front board. The front cover also has a small cluster of tiny dark speck-like stains. There are several short marks on the rear board. The rear pastedown has a bookseller's small label. The text block is sporadically cracked, but the book is still sturdy, and the pages are intact. The pages are quite bright. Some uncut pages. Very occasional light foxing, and minor offsetting from the illustrations. The myrtle illustration is just starting to detach at the bottom. As is.
