Introduction and notes by Everett L. Cooley. Number four of the series, Utah, The Mormons, and the West. This reprint was limited to 1,250. The Kanes first came into contact with the Mormons in 1846. Overtime the Kanes became close friends of Brigham Young even staying with him at his winter home in St. George, Utah. That trip became the catalyst for this book as Elizabeth and Brigham traveled around southern Utah and northern Arizona in 1874.
