London: George G. Harrap & Co. Circa 1909. Willy Pogany. Leather bound. Quarto [25 cm] Bound in a purple leather binding of the period with raised bands, a gilt stamped title on the spine, and gilt stamped decorative designs and borders on the spine and covers. Top edge gilt. Gilt rolled edges. Contemporary marbled endsheets and flyleaves. Good. There are numerous light scratches to the boards, and the boards are just a tiny bit bowed. The edges of the spine and covers are lightly rubbed. The spine and surrounding areas of the boards are faded. There are very light damp stains that run along the entire bottom edges of the covers, and there are small light moisture stains on the bottom edge and bottom fore edge corner of the text block. The edges of the endsheets are browned, and the front endsheet has long, thin moisture stains along a couple of the edges as well. These stains are very faint however. "The Times Book Club" has been stamped in small gilt letters on the front pastedown. The text block is cracked at the title page. The first front flyleaf is absent. The pages are browned. Item #33785
