Boston: Estes and Lauriat, 1890-1891. Edition de Luxe. Hardcover. Quarto [30.5 cm] Blue cloth covered boards with paper title labels on the spines. Top edges gilt. Other edges deckled. Good only. The covers are rubbed and scratched, and are sporadically stained. The boards are ever so slightly bowed. There are numerous small moisture stains on the spines, and the spine ends are bumped. Tanned pages. The color plate illustrations are offset on the opposite pages. The text blocks are cracked atleast several times. There are several small chips in the top edges of the endsheets of volume 1, section 1. The spine label of volume 2, section 1 is chipped at the edges, and has a couple of small open tears in the surface. There is a minor pen mark on the front free endsheet of volume 3, section 1. There is also a small crack along the front hinge. The hinges of this volume are going. Item #33939

Number 976 of a limited edition of one thousand copies, printed on linen vellum paper. Containing over Two Thousand Engravings, including numerous Maps, Plans, and Colored Plates. Each volume that is present has the maps that should be present in the volume.
