New York: The Dial Press, 1964. First Edition. Hardcover. SIGNED. 440pp. Octavo [21.5 cm] 1/2 black cloth with decorative light brown decorative paper covered boards. Very good. The edges of the spine and covers are lightly bumped and rubbed, and the spine is very subtly rolled. The edges of the text block are ever so slightly soiled and just a little scratched. There are a handful of small nicks in the bottom edge of the text block. The pages are tanned. With a dust jacket in very good condition. Mildly rubbed and age-toned. The majority of the rubbing is to the front panel. The edges are slightly chipped, and have multiple short closed tears. There is a 3/4 inch long closed tear in the surface of the rear panel along the fold of the spine. The spine of the dust jacket is barely perceptibly faded. Item #33978
Signed by Thomas Berger on the half title page. A very nice signed copy of a contemporary classic.
