Albany: Hoffman and White, 1833. Third Edition Revised. Leather bound. 400pp. Octavo [22 cm] Brown leather with a red leather gilt stamped title label on the spine. Good. The extremities are rubbed, and the boards are just a little bit warped. The leather at the spine ends and along the joints is heavily chipped away, and abraded. There is a 1 inch long crack in the front board, at the head of the spine, along the joint. The front board is mildly stained, and there is a damp stain on the rear board that measures 2 and 3/4 of an inch wide by 2 inches deep. The front pastedown has the remains of a bookplate. The endsheets are cracked along the hinges, and the binding cords are visible. Despite this, the book is very sturdy. The pages are tanned, and lightly foxed. There are sporadic subtle damp stains on the pages. The largest damp stains are 3 inches wide by 2 and 1/2 inches tall. There is a large loss to the fold-out map at the front. With the map at p. 161, and an illustrated plate. Item #34207
