Garden City: Doubleday & Company, Inc. 1948. First edition. Hardcover. SIGNED. 314pp. Octavo [22 cm] Orange cloth covered boards with a brown ink stamped title on the spine, and a brown ink stamped vignette on the front cover. Very good. This once belonged to a school library, and has just one ink stamp on the front pastedown. The front endsheet has a previous owner's name, an ink stamp, and a gift inscription. There are a couple of very small light moisture stains on the front free endsheet and front flyleaf. The top margins of the pages in the second half of the text are subtly damp stained. In a very good dust jacket, with mild age-toning and a faint trace of soiling. There are multiple small chips and short closed tears in the lightly creased and rubbed edges. The largest chip measures just over 1/4 of an inch wide by 1/4 of an inch deep. Price-clipped. Item #34686
