"B. Traven's early life is a jungle of conjecture, myth, and misdirection. Even today, with access to both the Traven archives in Mexico and the Marut archives at the University of California at Riverside, nothing is known about his childhood, his parents, or even the name he was born with." - Edward N. Treverton.
