Small discoloration to the cloth at the upper left corner of the front board from a sticker. Bookplate on the front pastedown. Foreword, notes and a selected bibliography by Paul Bailey, who has also signed the book on the limitation page. This edition was printed in an edition of 197 unnumbered copies. A first hand account of the Mormons who sailed the ship Brooklyn to the San Francisco Bay in 1846, and witnessed the transition of this area from Mexican to American hands, and the California gold rush that soon followed.
